TRUTH: It can be argued that high paid professionals need network marketing the most.

Most high paid professionals work in excess of 60-80 hours a week. These include Doctors, Lawyers and Engineers. (I know because I was a Software Engineer). Now as a Network Marketing Professional, a lot of white collar professionals feel the need to remind me by saying, "Network Marketing? I'm good. I'm making great money." Their reply is simply a reflection of their lack of understanding of the network marketing profession.
Part of it is the fault of network marketing. Admittedly, most network marketers are amateurs. Attrition is high and due to the low investment, ANYONE can get started. Therefore, it appears more as a hustle than a profession. However the truth is that there are thousands of Network Marketers who make in excess of 6 and 7 figures. In fact, world renown speakers and Network Marketers such as Les Brown and Darren Hardy (Editor of Success Magazine) acknowledge that the profession of Network Marketing has produced more millionaires than any other industry.
When I grew up, like so many of you, my parents told me to go to college and get a good job with benefits. And like most Americans, I did that. This is middle class thinking and can certainly produce comfort. However comfort never equates to wealth. Most American's earn what is known as Linear aka "Transactional" income. This means exchanging hours for dollars or time for money. This is also known as W2, wage-earning income. When looking at the top 1% of wealthy Americans, they do not earn the majority of their income this way. They earn a mix of leveraged income and passive income. Passive income is the art of doing something one time and getting paid repeatedly for that one time effort (e.g. royalties, collecting rent, etc). Leveraged income is the art of having other people who's talents and labor contribute to your own income.
So what is Network Marketing? (click for an explanation by Business Mogul, Robert Kiyosaki) It is a profession that allows anyone the opportunity to receive the billions in capital that would normally go to advertisers, simply by sharing products and services through word of mouth along with building a distribution force. It allows the average individual to create passive and leveraged income without the tremendous upfront investment. As opposed to say, putting up $750,000 to launch a McDonalds Franchise, you can invest under $500 and launch a business that can yield the same financial potential with virtually no risk. And because of the low investment, anyone who's serious can get a return on their investment within 30-60 days. In traditional business a return on investment is a luxury if it happens within 3 years!
The major contrast between Network Marketing and a high paid profession is time. In the beginning of both disciplines, it INDEED takes time and hard work. A lawyer must go through undergraduate and post-graduate education and must study and train for hours to become a professional. A serious network marketer also needs to put forth time, discipline and learn the profession to become a true professional. But that's where the two paths separate. In order to keep earning income as a lawyer (or ANY traditional profession), one must continue to bill hours, punch clocks and report for work. Moreover, most professionals cannot earn income from the efforts of others. Network Marketers on the other hand can acquire one customer, and get paid every single time that customer pays a future bill. Moreover, Network Marketers can increase their ability to earn these residual payouts as they introduce others to their teams, as they also earn a small percentage on all customers that fall into their base. Simply stated, work hard just one time and get paid continuously. This is why there is a popular mantra in network marketing to "work hard for 3 to 5 years." As a lawyer or engineer, you must continue to work until retirement. In other words, "work hard for 40 years." A Network Marketer can travel the world, work from wherever he or she wants and spend time with his or her family as much as they want, while five, six and even seven figures can hit their bank accounts every 30 days. A high paid traditional professional is bound by what "the boss" says. Not to mention tax breaks--a Network Marketer earns 1099 income and can write off business expenses prior to paying a penny in taxes while a high paid traditional professional only gets their cut once Uncle Sam gets his.
A personal testimony--prior to launching my Network Marketing business, I did not understand the power of the industry. However, after learning from the top money earners, it made a lot of sense. Since launching, I have helped many people save on their products and services and we now have a team spanning close to 30 states and soon to be 3 countries. And I'm still getting paid on the work I did back in 2011 when I launched the business. My mission now, is to simply educate those who do not understand the profession and invite those who are open to learn more. Our profession is by no means perfect. It's just better. And because of this industry, we and those who are committed will never have to punch a clock again, wake up to an alarm clock or brave a 2 hour morning commute.
